Where appropriate, specialist orthodontic expertise supports treatment planning, while your treating dentist remains responsible for your clinical care.

From Assessment to Treatment

Clear aligner treatment isn't simply a matter of producing a series of plastic trays.

Before your aligners are manufactured, your teeth need to be assessed and a treatment plan developed that considers the movements required to achieve your desired result.

Your treatment may involve different stages, attachments, interproximal reduction (IPR), refinements or other clinical considerations depending on your individual case.

Once your treatment plan has been approved, your custom aligners are manufactured specifically for your treatment stages.

During treatment, remote monitoring technology can help your clinical team keep track of your progress between appointments.

Aalto patients may use the Aalto ScanBox and Dental Monitoring technology to capture regular images of their teeth from home.

These scans can be reviewed by the clinical team to help monitor how treatment is progressing and identify when further assessment may be required.

Remote monitoring doesn't replace your dentist. Instead, it gives your dental team another way to stay connected with your treatment between appointments.

Traditional orthodontic treatment can involve regular appointments throughout the entire treatment journey.

Some of those appointments are essential. Others may simply be routine progress checks.

Digital monitoring can help reduce unnecessary appointments by allowing your clinical team to review your progress remotely where appropriate.

If your clinical team identifies something that requires closer assessment, you can be asked to attend an in-person appointment.
